Lead BI & Data Engineer

From SAP tables to decisions people trust.

I build the whole path from SAP to the people who run the business: CDS extraction views, Microsoft Fabric pipelines and Power BI models for manufacturing, supply chain and procure-to-pay. 6+ years, end to end.

Real SAP problems, built end to end

My day-job work runs on live SAP data, so I can't publish it. Instead, I rebuild the same problems on realistic synthetic SAP data and publish all the code.

Procure-to-pay analytics: SAP S/4HANA → Microsoft Fabric

A UK food manufacturer's full P2P flow, from requisition to payment, rebuilt end to end. CDS extraction views feed a Fabric lakehouse, a quality gate reconciles every KPI, and Power BI answers the questions procurement and finance actually ask.

What the analysis surfaced
£304kin duplicate invoices paid, missed by SAP's exact-match check
8 ptsof OTIF lost to short deliveries, concentrated in ingredients
£434kof GR/IR older than 90 days, ready for the year-end clean-up
£1.05mcommitted only after the invoice arrived (after-the-fact POs)

Inventory and material movements

Stock coverage, slow-moving and obsolete stock, and movement-type analysis built on MATDOC: the questions planners and controllers ask every week.

What I do

One person across the whole data path

Most SAP analytics problems come from the gaps between teams. I work on both sides of those gaps.

Data architecture

Designing how SAP data reaches the business and stays trustworthy.

  • SAP extraction with ABAP CDS views built in Eclipse (ADT)
  • Medallion lakehouse design on Microsoft Fabric
  • Star schemas and conformed dimensions

Data engineering

Pipelines that run every day without anyone watching them.

  • Fabric pipelines and PySpark notebooks on F64 capacity
  • Deployment pipelines and Git integration (Dev → Test → Prod)
  • Automated quality gates and reconciliation to source

Analytics and BI

Numbers that procurement, operations and finance agree on.

  • KPI definitions agreed with the business, written down
  • Power BI semantic models, DAX and Direct Lake
  • Dashboards for operations, supply chain and P2P
